OKAY FROM LIKE DAY ONE OF THIS SHOW my only wish was that Hannibal slowly, creepily, and coldly (although I am delighted by the less than cold feelings from Hannibal RE: Will) broke into Will’s mind and twisted it for his own pleasure/fun/gain WHATEVER.

AND WOW HAS THIS SHOW DELIVERED IN MORE WAYS THAN I COULD ASK. Cause like, LIKE okay. I just marathoned the episodes I had missed and I’m still freaking out over that moment where Will asks Hannibal “Are you trying to alienate me from Jack Crawford?” and then later in the episode when he MOUTHS OFF TO JACK AND I WAS SCREAMING OKAY. Because THAT IS THE DELIVERY I WANTED.

But now Will, poor little fucked up Will, is doing it ALL ON HIS OWN. He can’t keep his looking straight from his seeing and everyone around him is starting to catch oooonnnnnn (the great and sarcastic three looking at him with concern eeeee) and SLEEPWALKING AND TALKING LIKE HE’S THE MURDERERS AND AUDITORY HALLUCINATIONS *rolls in Will Graham’s deteriorating psyche*

(also a petition for an essay on the different natures of all the relationships Will has is being established right here. BECAUSE THEY ALL ACT DIFFERENTLY TOWARDS HIM AND I FIND IT FASCINATING.)

BASICALLY (hi, yes, thank you for letting me spill all that) WHY DOES IT MATTER THAT WE’RE BAD PEOPLE? I mean, lbr, half of this fandom is people throwing sparkles around the word cannibalism. If I am a bad person for enjoying the downward spiral that is Will Graham then I don’t wanna be good.

Black people get typecast as an extremely specific type of villain - they’re thugs, brutish and animalistic. South Asian actors are similarly typecast as scary oppressive (usually coded Muslim) terrorists.

But when your villain is of the superhuman archetype? When they’re brooding antiheroes, when they’re nuanced, when they’re multi-faceted?

They’re white.
